Mayor, City of Boulder
Aaron Brockett grew up in the small college town of Sewanee, TN. He attended Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, where he majored in Music and met his wife-to-be Cherry Anderson. After 8 years of living together in Stamford, CT, Aaron and Cherry moved to Boulder in 2003. They’ve raised their two children in North Boulder and ran a small software development firm together for 20 years. After serving for 5 years on the city’s Planning Board, Aaron was first elected to the city council in 2015, was re-elected in 2019, and became mayor in November of 2021. In his time on City Council, he has focused on climate change, housing, transportation, economic vitality, social justice, and racial equity.

David grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and master’s degree from New York University. He retired over 10 years ago from a telecommunication engineering and program management career and has been enjoying volunteer work since that transition. David has 19 years of nonprofit experience in various board roles at OUT Boulder County, Boulder County AIDS Project, and Motus Theater. He served a five-year term on the City of Boulder Planning Board and continues to do volunteer work in the community. David has a passion for working toward social justice, and his leisure time pursuits include traveling and cross-country ski racing.

Sherman R. Miller Executive Director, Michael A. Klump Center for Real Estate, University of Colorado Boulder
As the Sherman R. Miller Executive Director of the Michael A. Klump Center for Real Estate, Julie Gibson works closely with faculty and staff to carry out the Center’s mission to serve students and industry alike, through experiential learning opportunities, innovative partnerships with CRE firms, and thought leadership. Ms. Gibson manages the 60-member International Advisory Board, Center events, and works collaboratively with CU Advancement to raise funds for the Center. She is passionate about students and works to provide access and opportunities for students to launch and advance their careers in CRE.

Mayor, Town of Erie
Andrew J. Moore is a three-term Mayor of Erie, most recently reelected in November 2024, and the Chief Information Officer at Colorado School of Mines. With more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning technology, education, and public service, Mayor Moore has also held executive roles at organizations including Chevron, Sun Microsystems, and Boulder Valley School District.

Co-founder, Boulder Development Group
Early experience in retail banking strategy and as a Silicon Valley high-tech start-up founder in the early 2000s paved the way for a now 15-year career specializing in real estate development. Before concentrating his practice in the Front Range during COVID, Rob provided highly specialized diligence and entitlement consulting to one of the nation’s largest private equity firms focused exclusively on multi-family and senior housing development. In this capacity, Rob was directly involved in the successful entitlement and development of +$4B of contested projects across the Western United States. Rob’s record of 100% entitlement success – including in Boulder – is without peer. Rob also served as a development and branding consultant on several national award-winning multifamily development projects and as owners’ representative through vertical construction. Rob is a co-founder of the tech-forward multifamily development shop, Boulder Development Group.

Principal, Rodwin Architecture & CEO, Skycastle Construction
Scott Rodwin, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB is the Principal of Rodwin Architecture and CEO of Skycastle Construction. He is the 2025 President of the American Institute of Architects of Colorado and is a former President of the Colorado Green Building Guild. Scott was named the 2006 “Young Architect of the Year” by the AIA for the Western Mountain Region, and he and his firm are the recipients of over 60 local, national and international awards for sustainable design excellence and community service. He has been a leader in the green building field for over 30 years, and has taught residential green building for Boulder, the American Institute of Architects, USGBC, the Colorado Green Building Guild and Naropa University. Scott’s love of the Architect-led design/build process began while he was working as a framer on construction sites in college. He received his architectural degree from Cornell University in 1991.

Jonathan Singer served in the Colorado General Assembly for more than eight years, representing the 11th District (Northern Boulder County). He authored over 100 pieces of legislation, ranging from expanding housing opportunities to public safety and human rights. Having gotten his start in Boulder as a freshman in High School, Jonathan is committed to our community’s success. Under his tenure at the Boulder Chamber, they have received accolades from regional groups on policies ranging from homelessness solutions to property tax relief. He is constantly looking for ways to increase the impact of our members to improve public policy.

For more than 30 years, Robert Smith has worked at the intersection of economic development, community building, and public service, helping communities create opportunities for businesses & residents alike. As Director of Economic Vitality and Development for the City and County of Broomfield, Robert leads initiatives focused on economic growth, workforce development, and income-aligned housing, with a strong belief thriving communities require housing choices for people at every stage of life. Known for his collaborative leadership style, genuine enthusiasm for partnerships, and commitment to finding practical solutions, Robert is passionate about bringing together public, private, and nonprofit partners to strengthen communities and improve the quality of life.

Director of Communications, Common Sense Institute
DJ Summers is Common Sense Institute’s Director of Communications & Research Operations. He oversees CSI fellows and research staff, coordinates with partners, iterates and analyzes projects, and breaks down findings for the public, legislators, and commercial leaders. Prior to CSI, DJ attended the University of Utah and Syracuse University. He worked as a journalist, investigator, and political researcher across the U.S. from Washington, D.C. to Alaska.
