Adapting Colorado’s Water Systems for a 21st Century Water Supply and Economy

November 1, 2022 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

Despite Colorado’s continuing economic and population growth, water resources in the American West are continually under greater stress. To preserve and maintain continued growth, society must continue to ‘do more with less’.
Join us for a panel discussion as we discus Common Sense Institute’s latest release “Adapting Colorado’s Water Systems for a 21st Century Water Supply and Economy.”

This report provides an economic analysis of the situation, along with statewide and basin-specific policy recommendations on how to best adapt water management approaches in the face of inevitably changing conditions.
Hosted by Common Sense Institute (CSI), Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, and Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce

Mike Hooker, CSU Director of Community Affairs & Engagement
Panelists include:

Eric Kuhn, CSI 2022 Terry J. Stevinson Fellow and former General Manager of the Colorado River Water Conservation District

Jennifer Gimbel, CSI 2022 Terry J. Stevinson Fellow and Interim Director and a Senior Water Policy Scholar at the Colorado Water Center
About the Terry J. Stevinson Fellowship:

This fellowship was established in honor of Terry J. Stevinson, a founding board member of CSI.

The Terry J. Stevinson Fellowship is designed to spur thoughtful policy discussions and potential solutions regarding the many policy and economic challenges brought about by population growth in Colorado. Through a multi-year effort, CSI will work with different fellows on an annual basis to dive into one particular area concerning growth including policy topics such as transportation, water, affordable housing, etc.
The event will be held in person at the Hilton Fort Collins at 425 W Prospect Rd Fort Collins, CO 80526. Space is limited.

Breakfast will be provided. Business attire is recommended.
