Rusty Frishmuth is director of environmental, health and safety for Denver-based HighPoint Operating Corp., a small exploration and production company operating exclusively in the DJ Basin. He has more than 25 years of environmental, health and safety experience, working both as a consultant and as leader of corporate EHS teams. He has spent the last 20 years implementing and supporting EHS programs in midstream and upstream oil and gas operations.
In his role at HighPoint, Frishmuth has been actively involved in the development of recent environmental regulations, testifying before both the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission during recent rule-making proceedings. He also has extensive experience with the negotiation of air-quality-related enforcement actions with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the U.S. Department of Justice. He received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a certified safety professional and is a registered professional civil engineer in the state of Colorado.
