Jan Kulmann has successfully managed and executed projects and programs across multiple areas and locations during her 20 years in the energy industry. She joined Whiting Petroleum Corp. in 2019 as the director of midstream and facilities, where she works with her team to design and construct production facilities, gathering systems and processing plants. Before joining Whiting, she managed Colorado EHSR activities, as well as strategic initiatives across Noble Energy related to electrical power, automation, process safety and mechanical integrity. She managed EHS and technology support initiatives for Encana’s U.S. and Canadian operations, spent time at CenterPoint Energy as a design engineer and manager in efforts related to electrical power delivery design and construction, and was a project engineer at Equilon Enterprises.
She has a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University and an MBA from Colorado State University, and is a licensed professional engineer. She is the mother of two children, an elected council member for the city of Thornton, (where she serves as the city’s mayor pro tem), and former president of the board of directors for the Stargate Charter School.
