Founder & CEO, PopSockets LLC
David Barnett is the founder and CEO of PopSockets LLC. He was a philosophy major at Emory University, a physics major at the University of Colorado Boulder, received his PhD in philosophy from New York University, and from 2005-2015 was a philosophy professor at CU-Boulder. His research specialized in philosophy of language and philosophy of mind, before he reached enlightenment, stopped doing philosophy and became an entrepreneur.
In 2010, Barnett was looking for a way to stop his earbud cord from getting tangled, and he achieved this by gluing two buttons to the back of his phone and wrapping the earbud cord around the buttons. As ugly as the buttons were, they worked. In the course of improving on the idea, he developed about 60 different prototypes, making the buttons expand and collapse via an accordion mechanism, so that they could function as both a stand and a grip.
In 2012, Barnett launched a Kickstarter campaign for an iPhone case that would have two PopSockets grips integrated into the case. In addition to getting successfully funded, the KickStarter campaign enabled Barnett to show the world his dancing prowess. Two years later, in 2014, Barnett launched the business out of his garage in Boulder, and has subsequently sold over 110 million PopSockets grips around the world.

Founder & CEO, Bhakti Chai
Brook Eddy traveled to India in 2002 and fell in love with two things. The first was “Bhakti” – the idea that no matter your station in life, you have a responsibility to contribute to your community and create lasting impact in ways large and small.
The second was the discovery of the spicy taste and unforgettable aroma of a cup of homemade chai tea. She found that in sharing a cup of spicy chai with families she met, they were also sharing their zest for life and their dedication to the ritual of taking time during the day to drink in the moment.
Brook returned home to Colorado and began experimenting with brewing her own chai, layering fragrant spices and including fresh-pressed ginger for that extra bold zing she had experienced in India. Her friends and neighbors became her first “customers.” They quickly became fervent fans and followers of her incredible Chai and the social action principles of Bhakti. Their enthusiasm let her know this was the bold, spicy path her life should take.
Bhakti Chai blends fresh and sustainably sourced (fair trade, non-GMO, organic) with triple-bottom-line and B Corp business practices. Iced Bhakti Chai bottles are available in six varieties: Original, Decaf, Coffee Blend, Semi-Sweet, Almond Blend, and Toasted Coconut Almond Blend. Concentrate products are available in quarts, half gallons, and gallons in Whole Foods, Costco, and cafes across the country.
